We have been advised by the IRD that their Rotorua Community Compliance team will be making visits to local businesses in the coming months. The purpose is:
to provide education to workplaces about Inland Revenue services and advice about their compliance requirements. The visits are casual drop-ins to increase both our visibility in the community and awareness of business tax obligations. These visits are not audits or targeted to individual workplaces based on past compliance, but may be focussed at times on a geographical area or business type.
If you do get such a visit, and are uncomfortable with their presence and the IRDs staff questions, do not hesitate to contact our office, and we will be there immediately to assist.
